You would probably need to lay out the drum map specs for AD & GM side by side, then create the custom XML rules for what you wanted to replace. Better no note, than the wrong sound, eh? I looked at the conversion rule sets that ship with MIDI file Mapper, and saw one included for "EZDrummer to GM", but none yet for "AD to GM". I guess any AD extra actions just need to be remapped to the bit bucket, or to an alternate key. TheMaartian abacab Kalle Rantaaho Doesn't AD include lots of actions that GM doesn't, like cymbal mutes and such? Doesn't that affect the mapping and/or conversion? It's a bit of work, but you now have a pattern that plays your kit correctly If not, just use the move tool to move the note to a pitch corresponding with the correct kit piece. If they already match up to the sound in your drum kit, great. So drag the pattern you want from AD2 into a new Sonar MIDI track, output to the desired drum VST drum kit, then open up the pattern in Piano Roll view and play the keys corresponding to the notes you see in the pattern. But I was just trying to get a basic GM kit to play an AD2 pattern. But I heard cowbells and weird stuff where some cymbals should be. I dragged a few patterns out of AD into MIDI tracks in a Sonar project, and pointed them to channel 10 in TTS-1, but you could just as easily point them to any drum VST, such as EZD2.įor my example, in the TTS-1 GM drum kit, the kick, snare, and at least one tom sounded close to correct. But there is always the quick and dirty way of dragging AD2 patterns from the plugin to MIDI tracks in Sonar. If your EZD2 can import MIDI files then you could do this (even if not, you could still drag a modified MIDI file into your sequencer track): AD2 drum mapping seems a bit quirky.

But I still can't figure how to do the opposite with it, i.e.

If you use the map wrap feature before you drag a file to the track it will adjust the midi information to the particular drum software you are using. Or you can drag the individual kit pieces to various tracks. You can drag and drop the whole file to a track. But you hit the play button from within the EZPlayerPro browser. Record Enabling the track or combinations of tracks is the key. If you were to put an EXS on a new track and a couple of Ultrabeats on two more tracks, then EZplayer will play each one that gets record enabled. The file should play using the Abbey Rd Sounds.

Choose a midi loop from within the EZPlayer browser. Record Enable the track.(the square with the R turns red) Open an Abbey Rd on a Software instrument track. Open EzPlayer on a software instrument track. This is basically how I use EZPlayerPro to audition loops: If you find something you like, drag it to the Edit window track containing AR Drums plugin, or drag the midi loop down to the arranger window in the plugin.Īdditionally, if you like, you can create individual drum tracks for each fader in AR Drums and route them accordingly.Īnyone have any idea how to do this within Logic? Next, open the EZ Player plugin and audition midi loops contained therein. Then, set the input of 2nd track (in the midi seciton of the channel in Mix View) to EZ Player. Insert AR Drums (Kontakt Player plugin) on the stereo track. Insert EZ Player on the mono instrument track.Ĭlick on "Map Wrap" and choose General Midi. This is a plugin that will let you drag and drop midi loops to your PT session or you can arrange midi loops in the EZ Player workspace.Ĭreate 2 instrument tracks - one mono one stereo.
